Wood Stove Exchange Program

The Ministry of Environment is currently conducting a pilot project in the BVLD Airshed to better understand barriers to changing out wood stoves and then designing a program for increasing the number of low efficiency stoves that can be removed and replaced with a high efficiency appliance. Information on this program was presented at the Annual Community Forum on June 16, 2006 and a final report on the research and design phase of the project will be reviewed by the Airshed Management Society in 2006. So far, plans are to have another Exchange Program before March 31, 2007.

The first Skeena-BVLD Wood Stove Exchange program was held from August 15 to September 15 2004.
