Clean Air Plan review process

2009 Plan Review (updated July 20, 2009)

The Clean Air Plan was originally designed for the five year period of June 2004 - June 2009. Given the high degree of success experienced in raising awareness and managing emissions, the current Board of Directors agreed to renew the Plan for another 5 years by putting together an Addendum to be released later this year.

The Addendum will highlight changes to emissions sources, present new emission sources and strategies for dealing with them, and update Chapters 3 and 11 which discuss supporting science, measurement, and administration and implementation of the Clean Air Plan.

Results of 2006 Clean Air Plan Review

The Plan is reviewed annually for effectiveness by our membership and the Board of Directors. The 2005 review is now complete.

We invite you to review our work and make suggestions to improve the Plan.

Please submit your ideas in writing with a rationale for your suggested revision and cite references where appropriate.

All submissions will be reviewed at the Annual Plan Review & Assessment meeting in June and can be submitted at any time up to the day before the Review (for scheduling purposes). Suggestions may be reviewed by a working group best qualified to consider your suggestion before being recommended to the Board as a proposed amendment. The Board can accept, reject or modify suggested amendments based on best available science and feasibility of implementation.

Progress Report

The effectiveness of our organization and our 5 year strategy is reported every year at our AGM and Annual Clean Air Forum and as noted above, we encourage feedback on both.
